Cream Shepherd/Husky Update: (From Frenier Landing) I think the two boys were on their own for longer/ more than just the day and night, they were at Frenier Landing... Cream Boy: He's such a sensitive slightly reserved, loving boy and super intelligent... He will "sit" already and is learning what "watch" means... "watch and listen to strange noises". He knows he must "sit and wait" before going out of a door/ gate or before he gets out of the car. (I teach all mine this to avoid "bolting wildly out the car door/ house door, or a gate!! We don't do that...) He's SO attached to me. ~~>> Been going with me, on rides, and coming in the house for a few hours at night (after husband goes to work)!! Slowly, learning about our cats, and learning he can actually RELAX. I know the two boys (black and tan I took to shelter) where dumped together, but this one was in worse shape/condition than the black and tan boy!! This boy WAS POOR / skinny. If he wasn't so fluffy furred, you would have seen he was skin and bones when I picked them up. He also had a 1/2 inch wide (narrow) thin, black collar buried up in this neck...I think it prevented him from swallowing well!! I carefully PEELED it off his neck scabs and skin coming with it even with careful removal!! This dog was SO EXTREMELY GLAD to get that collar off him!! He licked my hands and looked at the collar and licked my hands again and acted SO HAPPY it was OFF finally. (His neck hurt him a great deal. I put antibacterial cream with pain relief on it and it's much better, but still tender.) He went to Folsom with me last night. (My sister was already there.) I left him in the farm house for 5 hours (with my going in and out many times) as I worked around there tending goats, etc, etc. When we got back to Laplace at after midnight he was SO GLAD to get back into the yard!!! He could barely wait to get back in it. (I think he realized, fully, that he was NOT being dumped again, and can go on long rides with me without fear. (He was nervous after being in the car 30 minutes on the way to Folsom... I'm guessing they took him on a LONG ride before dumping him... because he watched out the window ALOT like trying to get his bearings. I talked to him on the trip a great deal.) Photos of his neck after the collar removal...and a couple more of him photos of him relaxing.
